Our homeowner loves to cook and entertains frequently. Her only edict was to create a space that would discourage others from entering the kitchen proper. She enjoys the company of others but would prefer to have her space to cook just for her.
JS Design + Build relocated the kitchen so that the informal dining space would have direct access to the back terrace by way of a much larger opening to the outdoor cooking space and the Napa Valley views beyond. An arch was created to duplicate other arches in the residence. The peninsula divides the hard working kitchen from the rest of the space by creating a subtle barrier the client requested.
A custom hood with a whimsical hand painted motif and 6 burner range from Dacor create a strong focal point for the room. Cherry Wood-Mode Cabinets have the warmth of wood to offset the cooler feel of honed limestone floors with black marble mosaic inlay borders.
