The family room of this multi-generational hillside home sees hard use. Four generations live in this large multi-level home that was originally built in the 1980's. A gentle remodel-mostly surface materials was in order.
The non-descript fireplace needed some attention which we did by building it out to receive the deeper cabinets on each side then angling the new black granite tiles back towards the firebox. The black granite tiles accent the black granite slab counter tops of the adjoining kitchen. JS Design + Build wired the new surround sound speakers and the relocation of the television above the fireplace- creating one focal point.
Lightly stained vertical grain sleek custom cabinets created much needed display for some of the clients extensive pewter collection as well as additional storage and a place for the media equipment. The whimsical Lee Jofa polka-dot fabric reflects the colors of the lovely hillside garden and waterfall beyond the patio door. Century Furniture upholstery is a combination of comfortable fully upholstered pieces as well as a fun accent chair that plays off of the rounded shapes in the room. A Lane Furniture cocktail table centers the room and isn't so precious the grandchildren can play comfortably around it.
