Art Lover's Desert Home - Office

The owner spends a substantial amount of time in the home office. The small area had to be comfortable and highly functional. This functionality had to include an area to read and watch the news on television. An additional requirement was an abundance of cabinetry for storage and shelving for books, family pictures and the display of business and community awards. Also to be considered was the limited natural light.

We were able to maximize the storage and display area by having custom cabinets made. The cabinetry was painted in a satin finish cream color and grasscloth wallcovering was used to create texture without darkening the space. The desk top has canted corners to accent the angled wall where the TV lives and to soften the corners for the occasional hip bump. Leather chairs and Stark carpet were reworked from a previous home to fit this space.

We were able to address all the homeowners requests in a small space for this Art Lover's Desert Home.
